Before you connect

Connecting your Outlook mailbox.

Microsoft will ask you to sign in and grant Quietbox a few permissions. Here's exactly what we use them for — and nothing more.

Work or school accounts may need IT approval.

Many organisations block third-party apps until an administrator grants consent. If your account is managed by your employer, Microsoft may stop you here — that's their policy, not a Quietbox error. Personal Outlook and Hotmail accounts connect without any approval.

Reading your mail

What we actually do: read headers only — sender, subject, the unsubscribe header, read/unread. Never message contents. When you Suppress a sender we move its mail out of the inbox, which needs write access.

We never send email. We don't request the send permission at all.

What we keep

An encrypted, revocable connection to your Outlook, and per-sender counts. No message bodies, ever.

Where actions happen

Nothing runs automatically. Every unsubscribe and suppress waits for your explicit confirm.

Blocked by your organisation's administrator? Ask your admin to approve Quietbox, or email us at support@quietbox.app and we'll help.

Privacy-first inbox cleanup · Headers only, never your emails
